Holiday Madness!

Well I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I know that I did. Travis and I both made out like bandits this year!


The christmas eve "skoog gathering" was canceld. Mostly becuase I think everyone on that side of the family that still goes are getting up their in the years and it was really slick out and no one wants to bust a hip on christmas! So after hearing that news Trav and I headed down to Crawfordsville to visit with the family. His cousin Koti is a really close friend of mine now. She really is the coolest. So that was fun. The kids (Mack and Malik) were little hellions that night but after darn near tying them up in their blankets( we were giving it some thought. lol) they went to bed. The little buggers didnt wake up till after 7 am!!!! I was like HELLLOOOOO its christmas!!! I remember waking my brother up and running down the stairs at full speed at 5am! Screaming for mom and dad to wake up. They would wake up and put on coffee and Aaron and I would wait (I wouldnt say patiently) till we could open our stockings.


Another little christmas tradition that I love. I always got a slinky in my stocking. I know it sounds silly but I always look for it every year. I can't honestly remeber a year when I didnt get one. They are the best toys ever! When I have kids they will always have a slinky in their stocking.


Well after the kids finaly got up (and pounced on me) We all got dressed and headed over to "papa toms" cause thats where Santa delivers the gifts. The kids were so happy and the living room was a christmas paper tornado. I have never seen someone unwrap a christmas present so fast!!!!!! After the kids finished unwrapping trav and I got our stuff together to head to my mothers. We had a blast and mom made breakfast bake. It was amazing. I got a few gift cards and Mom got me some awesome shirts! After a while we went to visit Mikes family and had a pretty good time. Travis was so nervous, it was kind of funny! I didn't realize how long it had been since I had seen them all! My cousins are taller than me and they are only 15 and 13!!!! Well after all that we went on our way and mom sent us home with more eggs! Tell you what we sure wont starve with all the family bringing us food. We got half a pig the other day from my grandparents, eggs from mom and our neighboor brought us a million homemade cookies. He owns a flower shop here in town and is a really nice man.



Tonights agenda is not so hectic. Trav and I are going to catch a movie around 5 and maybe go out to dinner.

Well, honestly I have a big family and it never really botherd me at all. I guess I was used to it. On the other hand I never realized how it felt to come to one of these family functions when your not "family". We just always invited people...

Well this past weekend I got a dose of Randolph convention. Not as big as the Parkers but they came out the woodwork this weekend. Trav's grandparents came from Florida (I almost jumped in the truck to go back with them) and then Jack came from California. Now before I continue know that the past weekend is a bit of a blur.

Jack has 6 kids, Jessica,Jeremey, jacob, Erica, Josh and Cody. We all congregated at Jessicas house saturday evening and had a nice dinner and I met alot of the family. The kids were great and we had a really great time all weekend. Sunday everyone came to our place and I made dinner and yum yums. I had a great time but I am exausted. Jack is staying with us for another week untill I get the final word on his rental. Jack is not well... it was worse than what I thought. He is very nice and my heart goes out to him. Im just glad hes home with his family cause I know thats where I'd like to be.

I can't wait to be home for the holidays.

Ok, well I hope everone had a wonderfull holliday. I know I personaly thought I was dying. Too much food and too much driving. Travis and I braved "Black Friday" and took a trip down to the cell phone store and got ourselves a plan. With some nifty new phones I might add. My Step dad and my uncle have the new I phone wich is just way to techy for my taste.


So we survived thanksgiving!!!!

Now its time to put up the tree, make some cocoa and relax a little bit more!

As many happy thoughts that are flying through my head right now... i should be flying off this chair into the ceiling like freakin peter pan!





Well lets see here. It has been INSANE at work the past 2 weeks or so. Tax "fraud", balloons (dont't ask) and ceo's. Well it's finaly over. I think/pray/hope, that this never happends again.

Nina moved in with her friend and Eric and I are still talking. He dosn't seem all that bad. On the other hand my mother thinks I would be best friends with Charles Manson if I talked to him long enough. I can't help it thats what I am good at. I can talk to people, I listen and to some people thats all they want. So anyways that nightmare is now over. Few days of peace and then come to find out that there is no such thing as "relaxation" when your Megan. Family is fighting over things that shouldn't matter. I know they don't mean to stress me out. I think this is just the way that God made me. I hate fighting, hate it. I don't like the way that it makes me feel and when theres nothing I can do to fix it, Its worse.

Trav and I have to think long and hard about the next few months. You see Trav never new his father. Actualy I will tell you a bit about his father that even HE dosn't know. Trav's (sperm doner as we shall now call him) SD and Nancy were friends in highschool were going to run off and get married and have the fairy tale ending. Well SD decided he was going to try some drugs, got hooked and became a nasty person. Nancy got pregnant, he hurt her, she lost the baby. Well turns out shes pregnant again and wakes up and says I HAVE HAD ENOUGH! She leaves his pathetic carcass and thats that. She went on and went to nursning school raised a WONDERFULL SON. She had a happy ending. Now here is where the story gets sad...

You see Trav never knew his father but Jack, (nancy's older brother) was always around and the man became his "father". Jack made many mistakes in his life but he did the best he could for Trav even with him having his own kids. Jack has been diagnosed with Cancer and is not going to be around much longer. He is actualy going to be on his way back to Indiana to live out the rest of his days. Trav want's Jack to be at the wedding. Jack's right lung colapsed a few days ago so instead of flying he will have his friend drive him home. Notice the problem here?


Trav wants to have him at the wedding, who am I to tell him no?


We move up the wedding and heres how its going to work.

#1. Some family members will NOT be happy.
#2 Jack gets to see the wedding
#3. No money for a big wedding.
#4. we arnt that formal anyway.
#5. I'm too chicken $#!7 to talk to my family.


Ok, I admit it. I am afraid to say anything. You know why? Cause the only ones that would have a problem with it are the ones who are freaking stressed out right now.

I talked to Nick about it last night for 2 hours and he told me. Do what your gut is telling you. This is your wedding, this is your time. Your not rich, most people round here don't have as much as you do. He told me that as long as theres a preacher, a witness and the two of us, we got nothing to worry about!!!!!!

Well you know you are a Benton County kid, when you risk your LIFE to save 12 stupid pigs.


Thats right, I said risking my life!!!! I was drving along on 26 heading to my grandparents house. One of my good friends Nina was with me and we were talking about this weekend. All of the sudden she yells that there is something in the road. I slammed on the breaks threw that baby into park and jabbed the hazzard lights. There they were, 12 pigs, scared to death and wanting to get across the road. Nina and I looked at eachother both knowing we couldn't leave the poor things to get hit. So here we are standing in the middle of 26 stopping traffic and trying to get the pigs across the road. I don't know about you but I don't remember ever seeing Pig herding for dummies but a book needs to be made!


I will update more later. A mountian of paperwork is about to avalache off my desk if I dont get a move on it!

The link made me sick to my stomache. I hate animal cruelty more than anything on this planet and I beg you to please sign the petition. We can stop these things. We just have to get together and let them know what we are capable of! We need to let them know that we are not tolorent of this behavoir nor are we going to be consumers to this butchery.

A Haunted Halloween!

Well it seems we have a ghost in our new house! Pesky thing has been changing clocks. Wich by the way does not help me when I am trying to get to work on time!!!! All the digital clocks got set ahead on the same day 1 hour. Didn't worry too much about it maybe it thought daylight savings time had ended I dont know... but then the living room clock jumped ahead as well. So did the kitchen clock.


I am convinced that it is a ghost. The house was built in 1908. So there is a good possibility that there is something or someone there. Whatever it is its giving me the Heebie Jeebies.


Why of all weeks did it have to be on Halloween? Travis has to work so I will be passing out the candy! Can't wait to see all the witches and goblins! Will post some new pictures soon!

Whoooooooooo!

I felt like a complete idiot . I went to go vote at the payless wich is right down the road. I didnt wait in line too long only about 10 minuets. Well this was my first year to vote so I was kinda exited. I was watching the other people and seeing what they were doing so when i got to the lady I didnt look like a idiot. I got my little swipe card and then it hit me.... I dont know what i am doing. The lady next to me saw my face and said you just put the card in the slot and go from there. THANK GOD SHE WAS THERE. because 2 booths became available next to eachother and we headed over. I swipe the card and a screen comes up saying the 3 party choices. and I stood there looking stupid cause I am not a part of a political party.... Again the Saint woman whisperd "click next to pick and choose." So finaly im getting a good pace going, picking and choosing then the next page hit. "do you think so and so should stay in office?" Ummm... I dont even know these people or even heard of any of them and here I am holding their career in my hands! Too much pressure. So i kinda just poked random buttons and prayed that i was hitting the right ones.

Needless to say I got it all done and got my little "I voted" sticker, and was in desprate need of a xanax.





I can see why we only do this every 4 years...

Weekend Exitement

Friday night wasnt as eventful as we thought it would be stayed home mostly. Saturday on the other hand was a complete mess, well it was great untill about 2pm. Trav and I got our pictures taken at 11. Wich was really great because we have been wanting to get them done for sometime now. We took 7 different poses and got a ton of pictures. We got them done at Walmart (yeah I know we feel a little redneckish, but they do freaking GREAT pictures plus a great price.)

We got the Silver Collection with has 6 enhancements like b&w and sepia or borders.

Now back to the not so great part of the day...

Ash and Nick met us at the VP and Nick took Trav to work. Shirley and Dan have been a complete mess and Dan moved out. We helped him pack his things. They arnt over they just wont be living together. Going to try some marrige counceling and just kind of "date" and see what makes eachother tick. I think this is a good idea. Shirley was going to move back to Ohio, but she dosnt want to uproot Theresa ( their daughter) wich I think was a good move. So that happend, and i watched Theresa. Dad said that he was proud of me. That I'm such a good friend... made me feel alot better.



Today I went to my dads and saw him and Aaron ( my little brother) Hes the coolest kid. He is homeschooled but goes to these cool group things with other homeschooled kids and hes made some friends :) They go on awesome field trips! He also does blacksmithing wich is totaly awesome and hes really good at it. He brought some wooden swords to dads that he got at the harvest festival and we sword fought out in the front yard. I technicaly won, but hes a dirty fighter and when dad was talking to me I turned around and *BAM* he cut my arm off. LOL


Trav and Dad had a look at my car and my shock came off of my sway bar. (dont ask me what the heck that means I just wanted them to fix the ratteling that was coming from the back) So after work today Trav said he'd fix it. Then we went inside cause it was COLD out. Its only 55 out today. Dad taught me how to make a omlet today. And I did pretty darn well! If you know me you know that I have absolutly NO culenary experiance what-so-ever. So I can now make grilled cheeze and omlets on the stove. (I can bake. Just not so great with the stove top.)

sickness

Well seems that I have finaly beaten my cold. I am back at work. Josh and Nancy have been sick and it now seems that Trav is coming down with something.


Trav and I are getting our pictures taken tomorrow. :) 10:30 am but he dosnt know it yet!

I have to go to Goodwill tonight and see if i can find a dresser. We have been useing his great grandmothers but its quite old and lord knows we will break it. I have been keeping my eye out for the past 2 weeks but have had no luck so the search continues!!!!


We wanted to get married next summer but it looks as if thats not going to happen. I think my grandparents want us to get our own place first. Im not sure. Trav is getting his license back this month. We have been looking around at places for rent just kind of keeping our eyes open so we kind of know what we want and what we dont want.



But things are going ok today. I forgot to run to the bank so I'm gonna see if sara will let me run up the road and cash my check!

Uhhhhg

Well last night sure was interesting. Sabrina's cat needed to go to the animal hospital, so i drove her there and we stayed for 2 and a half hours. Poor kitty had a upper res. infection. So we got some Amox and he should be better soon. So we didn't get home till late, and this morning I had to take Catlin to school.


Today is horrid. I have a cold and the day keeps getting worse by the hour.


Thinking about applying to Purdue. I need benifits, I really like the job I'm at but I do need the benifits and with Trav and I only working "part-time" its not really working out trying to save money.


Trav dosnt have to work today. He likes his job at Purdue so I think he's going to stick with it for a while.


I cant wait to eat some soup and curl up with him and watch a movie and relax.

About us.

I have decided to make this blog so friends and family can know what we are up to.


As of right now we are working on coming up with a wedding date. Trav and I visited my grandparents who want us to hold off untill 2010. We think we might wait but right now we arnt really sure yet. With the way the economy is going we might just have a weenie roast and call it a day :) So no big wedding. That we are sure of!


We were planning for it to be at ross camp. Its such a beautifull setting. But again its $900 for the full day, and only 400 is refundable. Too much for us. We have decided that the methodist church in fowler would look just as pretty. Now dont get me wrong. I have gone to that church my whole life and the new church is beautiful. Its just that Breanna had her wedding there and Tom is having his wedding there and everyone is expecting me to have mine there. and its going to be boring cause its all the same thing! Nothing special about it at all cause we have already seen it 3 times within a year of eachother!!!!!!!


Anyways thats just how I kinda feel about it at least, but it would be cheaper there and maybe we can do more for the reception that way or something. Plus all my family is in the Benton County area anyways.


Im sicker than a dog today. I havnt been feeling well for the past few days. I think last night really did it in for me. I had to work 9-5pm, then rush to ashlies wedding, then rush to trevors football game ( we got lost on the way) and then we had to take trevor home. Cindy was already home from working at Night Owl. (Who by the way is catering the wedding. Cindy can cook like no one I know. ) I relize I am almost out of gas so we run to oxford. FINALY we are on the way home and I'm going through oxford and a car starts following me. I get freaked out and turn into templeton and he follows. Turns out it was a cop running my plates, no big deal i wasnt doing anything illigal and he went on his merry way. Trav and I didnt get home till after midnight. We watched some T.V then I went to bed.


We decided to start looking for houses for rent we would love to get one out in the country or even otterbien but pickins seem to be slim and the cheaper ones are in lafayette. There was a cute 2 bedroom that was pretty cheap in the paper, we arnt planning on getting anything untill April. We just like skimming the market right now. We already decided we have to have atleast 2 bedrooms. That way Trav can have a "Man Room" I guess i can have the rest of the house :)
